Our Honest Take on one of the World’s Largest Tech Gathering

Quizzability had the privilege of participating in the Web Summit 2024 in Lisbon, an event that continues to stand as one of the world’s premier stages for innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology. Over four days, we immersed ourselves in the high-energy atmosphere, showcasing Quizzability on Tuesday, November 12th, at stand A401, and again on Wednesday morning, at the Startup Portugal Pavilion. 

A Platform for Visibility 

Web Summit remains an unparalleled opportunity for startups like ours to connect with a global audience. From investors and partners to sustainability advocates, we met inspiring individuals who resonated with our mission of making sustainability education interactive and accessible. We also had the pleasure of attending **parallel events**, which were instrumental in fostering meaningful connections with other participants and industry leaders. These smaller, more focused gatherings proved essential in creating genuine relationships. 

The Challenges of Scale 

While the Web Summit offers unmatched exposure, its sheer size can be overwhelming. With **over 70,000 attendees and countless startups** vying for attention, it’s easy to feel lost in the crowd. This year, we noticed a shift: there seemed to be fewer interactions between startups and attendees. Many fellow entrepreneurs shared similar sentiments, noting how challenging it was to stand out amid the immense volume of activity. 

Finding Focus in the Chaos

For Quizzability, the key was clear: **prioritize meaningful engagement**. While the exhibition floor was buzzing, the quieter, curated events allowed us to highlight our mission more effectively. Web Summit might feel like “too much” at times, but its scale also holds potential. With a strategic approach, even the most chaotic environment can yield valuable results. 

A Moment of Reflection 

As we wrap up this incredible experience, we’re reminded of why we started Quizzability: to create a platform that simplifies and demystifies sustainability education. Web Summit is a reminder of the power of innovation and collaboration, but also a lesson in the importance of focus and clarity in a noisy world.
